MICHAEL KENYON
District 1
Michael Kenyon of South Elgin in Kane County was elected to the state board of directors in 2000 to represent District 1, which includes Boone, DeKalb, Lake, Kane, and McHenry counties. He serves on the board's National Affairs & Marketing Committee, and serves as the interlocking member on the board of the Illinois Milk Producers' Association and the Midwest Dairy Association. He also serves on the COUNTRY Trust Bank Board.
Kenyon is a partner in Kenyon Bros., a dairy and grain operation near South Elgin.
Kenyon served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He was a past president of the Elgin and South Elgin Jaycees, and he helped organize and was the second president of the South Elgin Business Association.
Kenyon has served on the Kane County Farm Bureau Board from 1992 to the present, and served as president from 1996 to 2002. He also served as a member of the Resolutions Committee and the Farm Policy Task Force.
Kenyon received his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Illinois. He is a director of First Community Bank of Elgin.
Kenyon serves on the Conserve FS board of directors, and is the Elgin Township Republican Chairman, representing Precinct 39 Elgin Township. He also serves on the Kane County Farmland Preservation Committee and Kane County LESA Review Committee. Kenyon was elected to the Kane County Board in 2004, representing District 16. He serves on the Administrative and Development Committees, and on the Kane County Forest Preserve Board.
Kenyon and his wife, Carol, live in South Elgin and have three children: Michael, Jr., Andrew, and Elizabeth.
